How and when did you first start playing golf?

Before working at Five Iron, my only golf experience was when my dad took us to the driving range as kids. But in the last 4 months, I have learned so much about the game. Five Iron customers and team members have inspired me to get out and learn to play!

Tell us about a woman or group of women who inspire you in golf, business, or your personal life:

I definitely look up to every single woman that is a part of Team 5i! Especially the few who have taken me under their wing and taught me everything I know ????

1 | How and when did you first start playing golf?

I played golf when I was much younger very sporadically, but I didn’t start golfing seriously until I started at Five Iron. I come from a family of golfers, so it’s fun to be able to golf on their level now!

4 | Have you ever encountered any barriers or had to overcome any adversity in golf?

When Bailey and I were golfing, a groundskeeper told us, “I know this might be your first time golfing, but you need to play faster and pick up,” on our second shot of the day. In response, I hit my 7 iron 160 yards to the green for birdie.

6 | How would you like to see the golf industry make the game more accessible and enjoyable for women?

The problems start from the top. From mens only country clubs to small comments made on the course, holding everyone accountable for how they treat women is the first step to creating a more accessible environment.

7 | Any tips to share with women who are new to the game?

Just go for it. It’s okay to fail because every failure is one step closer to greatness.

At Five Iron Golf! When I started working at 5i in 2019, I messed around a little bit here and there but didn’t care much for it. It wasn’t until we reopened after the shutdown that my never-ending need to feel included kicked in. I wanted to hang with the golfers so I decided to get serious about learning.

2 | What do you enjoy most about playing? How do you define a great day on the course?

Sim golf for life. I’ve never been on a golf course but I love hopping in a sim and showing the 5i team how I can now make contact.

3 | Tell us about your favorite or proudest golf moment.

I tend to overthink my swing a lot but about a month ago, 5i instructor James Cunha told me to only focus on one thing at a time. And I hit a great shot! I still have a ways to go but I always keep that advice in mind.

4 | Have you ever encountered any barriers or had to overcome any adversity in golf?

No, I’m in the perfect place to learn.

5 | Tell us about a woman or group of women who inspire you in golf, business, or your personal life:

Veronica Ryan, Lois Kim, and Cindy LaCrosse. No question. They are all fantastic golfers who I work with at Five Iron and I want to get good enough to play with them.

6 | How would you like to see the golf industry make the game more accessible and enjoyable for women?

Make it more known how much fun golf can be when you’re bad. No disrespect but I see people with trash swings having so much fun with it and I wish more people knew that.

7 | Any tips to share with women who are new to the game?

Just do it. Just start playing and be really bad and continue to be really bad with the hopes of one day being good. Because it’s still fun when you’re bad.

2 | What do you enjoy most about playing? How do you define a great day on the course?

I enjoy making new friends. Every time I’ve stepped foot on a golf course, I connect with someone.

3 | Tell us about your favorite or proudest golf moment:

Probably winning a longest drive contest… but I played with 10 year olds at a birthday party so there’s that!

4 | Have you ever encountered any barriers or had to overcome any adversity in golf?

Being an inexperienced female golfer, I often feel like all eyes are on me. I just stay confident in my abilities and I’ll fake it til I make it! It’s all a mind game.

5 | Tell us about a woman or group of women who inspire you in golf, business, or your personal life:

The gals from Grueter Golf are bad asses and I am truly inspired by their ability to create a chill atmosphere while being bosses at the game.

6 | How would you like to see the golf industry make the game more accessible and enjoyable for women?

Hosting camps in conjunction with schools for young women is a great start. Big sports like basketball and volleyball are accessible in most schools, but young women have to search elsewhere to get involved in golf and often further out for golf lessons and camps.

7 | Any tips to share with women who are new to the game?

Remember you are powerful and capable of doing anything. Have fun and skill will come. If it’s something you enjoy, don’t put too much pressure on yourself trying to be the best. Work at it at your own pace.

Dark Intervals GUITARS IN SPACE VST Crack

When my husband and I were dating we would play golf very occasionally and casually, like on vacation or at a driving range where we could rent clubs. We won my first set of clubs as a prize for both of us making a 50-foot putt at an amusement park (hasn’t happened since, at least for me)!

2 | What do you enjoy most about playing? How do you define a great day on the course?

I love being outside and spending time with friends. A great day is one where I can make a few good shots and work on things that are challenging for me (e.g. hitting over a body of water).

3 | Tell us about your favorite or proudest golf moment:

I would say my first real “golf trip” with a group of friends in February 2019 because it was so fun to travel, play a new course, and be able to keep up with the others (even if I had to pick up a few times).

4 | Have you ever encountered any barriers or had to overcome any adversity in golf?

I’m still a bit intimidated by the rules and dress code sometimes.

5 | Tell us about a woman or group of women who inspire you in golf, business, or your personal life:

Five Iron Co-Founder and COO Nora Dunnan. She never lets up (on and off the course) and certainly sets a high standard for women in business!

6 | How would you like to see the golf industry make the game more accessible and enjoyable for women?

Make more space for women (including professionals) to play on weekends or other peak times, even if it means a short-term “loss” or compromise.

7 | Any tips to share with women who are new to the game?

Have fun and shake off the nerves – most people don’t really care about how you’re playing as long as you’re polite and keep up with the pace of play.

1 | How and when did you first start playing golf?

I never played golf growing up — we didn’t belong to any clubs, my parents didn’t play, and it wasn’t something I knew anything about. When I started dating my now husband right after college I picked it up. His entire family plays (including his mom and sisters) so he was very used to playing with women! I feel lucky because many men out there just view it as a boys club and don’t bother teaching their wives. Good thing he did, because I’m not sure I would be a part of Five Iron (or if Five Iron would exist) had that not happened!

2 | What do you enjoy most about playing? How do you define a great day on the course?

I’m competitive (maybe too competitive). I miss playing sports and playing golf and getting out on the course is a way to be outside for a day with great company…while also competing.

3 | Tell us about your favorite or proudest golf moment:

My husband joked that he’d buy me a driver when I broke 90 (at that point I was shooting high 90s regularly and I had only been playing a few years, very infrequently). The next time we played, I shot an 89. I don’t know if I’m more proud of that or the time I beat him ????

4 | Have you ever encountered any barriers or had to overcome any adversity in golf?

I have two barriers to golf: work and kids, ha. I wish I could play more often than I do!

5 | Tell us about a woman or group of women who inspire you in golf, business, or your personal life:

My mom has been a great role model for me. She is a doctor and opened her own medical practice when she was young. It grew to a large practice with three locations, many doctors, and a surgery center. She loves what she does and she works very hard. We are very similar in that regard and I’m glad I grew up seeing what it looked like to truly love your career and dedicate your life to it.

6 | How would you like to see the golf industry make the game more accessible and enjoyable for women?

I don’t blame the game of golf as much as I blame the people who play it! Bring the ladies out there, make it fun! It couldn’t hurt to have more forward tees for older women, though. The old men get them! Why not the ladies?!

7 | Any tips to share with women who are new to the game?

Find friends, find people who play, and just give it a go! Don’t be embarrassed or think you have to be a great golfer to go to the course. There is no shame in picking up your ball and moving on to the next hole!

1 | How did you first start playing golf?

My dad introduced my sister and I to the game when we were little. I was more interested in a hot dog and candy bar but then it stuck.

2 | What do you enjoy most about playing? How do you define a great day on the course?

I enjoy the challenge different shots provide — especially chipping and putting. I like thinking of the different options I could do, then trusting myself to give it a try! A great day on the golf course is playing any course in good shape. Give me fast, smooth greens and I’m a happy camper.

3 | Tell us about your favorite or proudest golf moment:

My first professional win. I started the final round 5 shots back and I was playing with the girl who was leading. I kept at it and slowly chipped away. When I made an incredible up and down on the 16th hole, it was a moment that I will never forget. I finished par… par to win by one.

4 | How do you feel about being a woman who plays golf? What are your biggest limitations, if any, to playing?

Playing as a professional, the pay difference between men and women is unreal. It is tough knowing I was working just as hard as male professional golfers and earning maybe 20% of what they were earning.

5 | Who are the women that inspire you in golf? In business? In your personal life?

Serena Williams, Michelle Obama and my grandma, Judy

6| Where do you want to see women in 10 years from now in golf? How would you like to see the golf industry help expand the game to more women?

I would hope that the prize winnings are closer and women’s golf has better TV coverage. Women’s sports in general, young girls need to see women on TV playing sports, being competitive and having fun.

7 | Any tips for women who are new to the game?

Grab a group of girls and get a lesson! Make it fun, learn the basics and enjoy golf as a new activity.
